A website dedicated to my 1970 Plymouth Road Runner

History

I purchased this Road Runner in February, 1971 from Van Ness Chrysler Plymouth in San Francisco. I am the original owner, and the car has never left California.

After several years of driving the car, I parked it in the garage for over 30 years.

In 2007, I decided to invest the time and money into getting the Road Runner running again. I worked with a well known Bay Area Mopar mechanic to make sure all the right mechanicals were refreshed.

Here are the highlights of the maintenance performed on the car:

  • Tires replaced with Kelsey Tire (Goodyear F70X14 RWL letters)
  • Refreshed engine, transmission, rear end, and brakes
  • New gas tank
  • New battery
  • Gardner exhaust used for new pipes and mufflers (original resonators and chrome exhaust tips).

My car is a rare post coupe, and it was one of only 222 manufactured for 1970. It's a real "V" code 440 six pack car. As of December 15, 2013, the car only has 6297 miles!

I've taken very good care of this Road Runner, and I have all the documentation. I even have the original bill of sale, owner's manual, and warranty card. The starting instructions are still on the visor! It smells new inside... like it just came off the showroom floor!
